UIA instituted its community & excellence awards to acknowledge the contributions of individuals and organisations.
On 21st Jan 2011 United Indian Associations hosted the Australia day & Indian Republic day function at Lidcombe and UIA honoured the HSC high achievers from UIA member associations. In total 26 youngsters were honored for their outstanding result in HSC 2010. Out of them, 16 youngsters had achieved ATAR of 99 and above including 3 nominees with a perfect score of 99.95. UIA would like to congratulate the youngsters and their parents for the extra ordinary effort which has made the whole community proud of the achievement.
Two youngsters Pallavi Sitarti Wardan & Tejwant Singh Rana were presented with Young Achiever Awards.
UIA also honoured Dr Sid Orekondy, Dr Hem Chand Rao, Dr Ram Ramsay, Councilor Dilip Chopra and Dr Vijay Kumar for their distinguished service to the community.
Mr. Christian Herft and Mr. Clary Castrission were facilitated as Friends of India for their services to poor people in India.
