UIA recognises the efforts of the individuals, member organisations, Indian diaspora and Australian community that support UIA activities. UIA is proud of its members and wide Indo – Australian community that spend their valuable time, money and quality family time to promote the interests of the Indian community in Australia.
UIA Awards aim to recognise and celebrate achievements, educate, stimulate and inspire member organisations and individuals to strive for excellence in the delivery of their services to the community as well as make Indians proud.
UIA Awards play an important role in motivating individuals and member organisations to become more innovative in meeting the community’s needs.
UIA Awards are given in the following categories

• Indian Business and Trade Award
HSC High Achievers Award:
This award is instituted to encourage the students to do their best in the HSC exams and recognise their hard work and make them proud of their achievement. This award is given to the students nominated by the member organisations.
Young Achiever’s Award:
The aim of this award is to acknowledge, encourage and most importantly promote the positive achievements of young minds. The nominations for this award are made by the member organisations.
Life Time Achievement Award:
Indian diaspora has made many considerable contributions to the Australia with their hard work, dedication and strong support for the community as well as have promoted culture, heritage and setup examples of their altruistic work.
UIA acknowledges such individuals through this award on the nomination of the member organisations.
Friends of India Award:
Many individuals and many organisations are working tirelessly in India to support and create opportunities for the children, women and people in need. They run programes for supporting basic education, like skills development, medical assistance, delivery of clean water and many more selfless efforts. UIA acknowledges such individuals and awards them for their relentless efforts.
Business and Trade Award:
Business and Trade Award recognises the business people of Indian origin that have supported and made contribution to the Indian diaspora. These businesses have supported UIA at every step and have sponsored its activities. UIA recognises their support and acknowledges them for their continuous and altruistic hard work.
