Your Opinion of Indian Link Article

Charity must begin at home-Shailja Chaturvedi Hindi Samaj of Sydney:

Dear Editor
Thank you for your thought provoking coverage of UIA.The readers with apathetic community attitude will have yet another reason to promptly condemn an excellant community organisation and justify their noninvolvement.
Some of us however, can not remain complacent about your analysis as we invest substantial amount of time energy and finances in endeavouring to provide the services which you have outlined in your article.
Let me assure you that we are just as ambitious as you are in our dreams with only difference that you subscribe to it on the paper and we have to prove it on the battlefield indeed a challenge you may not have experienced as yet.I wish my organisation was able to pay for a secretary who will prepare this letter and answer every call a community member makes.

Vounteers in all organisation are dedicated and committed members of the community with passion for the betterment of their people. They make a serious and well considered decision to join a nonprofit organisation due to their genuine concerns for their community. The investment we make far outweighs the frontpage photograph of Indianlink. Writing this letter is not to fill up my freetime but to rob me of my precious sleep.
I wonder how many applicants have responded to your eloquent advertisement.
Hindi Samaj has been unsuccessfully trying for 15 yrs just to recruit the person in your ad. Decision to do community service is a multitask affair which involves dissimilar personalities and individual dreams which in itself is complex. No one can be adequately trained for it.Its not a full or part time well remunerated job but in addition to our heavy work, family and social committments. Only handful of 100,000 vibrant, dynamic and relatively affluent Indians living in NSW support community organisations possibly for the lack of personal or short term gratification. We have not been able to live upto your expectations not for the want of enthusiasm and committment on our part but lack of manpower.
All the 3 writers of the UIA analysis in your paper are highly accomplished, multitalented professionals in their fields and we welcome their valuable appraisal of our perfoprmance.

community welfare should be our collective responsibilty specially for people who have achieved personal success and community status.
Your newspaper has become one of the most successful media outle we are proud of,yet your relationship with most of the nonprofit organisations has remained purely commercial with no priceless provision to promote their cause or fundraising activities unlike most of the radio stations and other newspaper.
Charity must begin at home and we eagerly wait for your contribution beyond your monitoring role. And as you have raised such an important issue for public debate you must lead our humble attempts to raise our community profile and make the Indian community the most successful, well integrated, united with their adopted country despite the diversity.
The toothless tiger is ready and receptive to welcome the full complement of its denture from the mighty capable leaders of our community who genuinely want to share the dream of establishing Indians as the best alrounder ethnic Australians.I must Thank you for publishing my response to start a healthy debate.

TESTIMONIAL FOR U.I.A & T.A.A ORGANISATION: From Mr Arpit Raswant,Sydney University

I am really grateful to united Indian association and technocrats association of Australia for the all the support and love given to me in Australia. we all know its very difficult for everyone to start whole new journey on a foreign land, miles from home , esp. It becomes significant when one's age is just 18 years that is, no so called 'experience' to 'real' Life. But it becomes alot easy when you are given support without any personal objectives with all care and warmth. so i was the lucky one to get that from U.I.A & T.A.A they welcomed me to take part in India-Australia
Fair-2005 as a volunteer. Oh! It was such a fun and exciting experience.

Thousands of people were having fun. Along which cultral activities made them thrill.i sold raffle tickets, entry tickets and helped people & side-by-side was enjoying the colourful show. T.a.a president Mr.Rohitas Batta and senior vice president Dr. Reddy introduced me to many people which helped me to interface Indo-Aussie society directly. this interface and work exp. In fair got me many jobs as well!!!!!!!!!! .
So I want every Indian to be part these organisations because if you are not part of this then you are sure missing something.
